Up for sale is a 1978-81 Fender American Strat. I am not sure what the exact year is serial number decoding says 78-81. I normally have a friend who would take the neck off and check and set this guitar up properly but he is on tour as a tech for the next 7 months. So I am out of luck. This is a pretty beat up strat lots of nicks and bruises finish is reall y dull and a funky yellow the original owner was definitely a smoker . The pots are all clean and there are no scratchy shorts or anything weird with the electronics. The neck appears to have been re-fretted but it was not set up after the fret job. Needs to be leveled to be right. Hard shell case is included. The guitar also has 3 fender lace sensor single coils not the original pick ups. cigarette burns on headstock and some screw holes from what I figure must have been a locking tremolo system of some sort it has had an original type nut put back in it. The whammy bar is missing , case is in nice shape. Guitar is actually very cool looking from all of the road wear ,and it does sound really good, would be killer if the neck was set up properly. We have all seen the stressed reproductions they sell to try and imitate what this guitar looks like. I am selling this guitar AS-IS if you would like pics of anything let me know.
