10 Day NO RESERVE AUCTION for . . . 1986 Gibson SG Special in CARDINAL RED finish - in overall very good condition - with vintage Brown Gibson Hardshell Case with pink lining and case blankey. This SG Special features some unique features: very cool custom color, EBONY fingerboard, two volume and master tone, and nice big fat f rets with tons of life left. This 86 SG has two very high output humbuckers, so this is a rocker guitar - the pickups look to be either Dimarzio or Seymour duncan - and both have 12 adjustable pole pieces each (hex wrench adjustable). The combination of the high output pickups - which also retain great clarity and highs - and the ebony fingerboard, result in a great articulate rock tone. This SG is in very nice shape - it does show some play wear, though - scratches and dings here and there, but nothing major at all. Some dings and chips on the edges of the body, but that's it. There are some visible screw holes on the back of the headstock due to the original tuners being replaced with Schaller tuners. Great tuners - no, they are not the originals, but they WORK REALLY REALLY WELL. The Gibson case is also in really good shape for it's age, and yes - the blankey is intact.
