1997 Gibson SG '61 Reissue Heritage Cherry This is a 1997 Gibson SG '61 Reissue in Heritage Cherry. The guitar is in good condition. There is one large chip out of the back-top of the headstock. Easy to see in the photos. That’s the only major damage, no other breaks or repairs. The guitar has several light scratches all over, mostly just on the surface, a couple through the paint. There are a few small impressions in the finish, little dents, from getting bumped, front and back. The pick guard and body have some pick scratching. The frets show a tiny bit of wear, just enough to see that the guitar has been played a few times. The pickups are Gibson 57 classics, the electronics work properly, the pots are smooth and clean. The neck has the proper relief and the strings are 0.050” off the 22’nd fret. The action is great, no buzzing. This guitar had a Lyre Virbola installed by a previous owner. The screw holes are visible on the top of the body and around the end pin. I do not have the Virbola, it was an aftermarket part. The guitar came from Gibson with a Stop Tail and that’s what’s on it now. The bridge is an ABR-1. This guitar is in good mechanical condition and a pleasure to play. She weighs in at 6 Lbs, 9 Ozs. and comes with the Gibson case as shown. Shipping for this item is $50 and will cover the cost of delivery and insurance to any of the lower 48 States.
