Certificate of authenticity included. The instrument was the 17th unit manufactured in this series in 2006. It is very playable and sounds excellent. I am setting a low reserve due to the following cosmetic, non-performance related imperfections. There is a dimple in the side of the neck at the fifth fret, possibly due to placement of a capo at that position by a prior owner. The instrument has some finish checking (see pic’s). Finish checks are thin lines (fractures) in the clear coat. They are not detectable by touch. The Gibson website attributes this phenomenon to expansion or contraction due to rapid temperature changes. The fractures do not appear to extend into the color coat, which makes me think that the clear coat has limited elasticity and is susceptible to this form of checking.
