For sale is my late 80’s Fender HM Strat a true players delight in a very rare color/ neck combo. Pink with Maple board is very hard to find and very desirable. First and foremost this guitar is a fabulous player.  It has recently had the frets dressed and crowned, no buzzes and plays like a dream up and down the entire neck.  I've played it maybe three hours since I had the work done. The body has numerous nicks and dings on the sides that can’t be seen from a couple of feet away.  None affect playability or tone and I’ll take pics of the nicks.  there are NO cracks in the neck joint like many of these can have. The Kahler is rock solid, as they all are if setup correctly.  I spent time communicating with John at Whammy World getting the tremolo dialed in and I can confidently say it stays in tune and is of much higher quality than current tremolos.    I use D’Addario nickel wound 10’s and tune to D. So if you run any other setup than that, you should expect to spend a little time getting to know and setting up this guitar.   A previous owner stripped and fixed two of the saddle clamp screws in the tremolo.  For these you must use a flat blade screwdriver, the rest take the allen head.  This is a very minor issue and has no effect on the tremolo.  In fact, it would be better if all of the screws were modified to take a screwdriver.  See pics. The mid boost was removed when it got to me so even though it has the original switch, there is no mid boost.  The pickups are original the Dimarzios. While the controls are original and look standard, the volume configuration was professionally modified by my luthier. Current controls are setup as follows, starting near the strings, unwired, master volume, and master tone. For the sale I put the original volume back the guitar (closest to pick up) but it’s not wired up.     If you want to use the stock control configuration you will need to wire in that volume.  I run it this way because the volume gets in the way of my hand.  Cost me 15 to have my luthier set it up in this manner, probably cost you 15 to undo it.  I didn’t leave the hole open, I’d run a sticker over it to keep the internals sealed.   I didn't gig this guitar but dollars to donuts it was gigged before it came to me and actually that is how I like my guitars, played and playable!
