This is the  Gibson USA ES137C electric guitar. 24.75" scale. 1 11/16" nut width. 9.6 lbs. The R8 is an exceptional recreation of a 50's classic. Starting off with a non-weight relieved maohgany body. This brings back all the warmth, mids, and 'push' of the original classic Les Pauls. The hand carved top adds in some nice high end mids- resulting in a very balanced overall tone. Even unplugged, this one has got some nice projection- the sign of an expertly crafted guitar. Grabbing up all that goodness are dual Gibson Burstbuckers. The Burstbuckers were designed to have mismatched coils and alnico II magnets, thought by many to be the secret to the elusive PAF mojo. These beauties compliment the '58 perfectly. From bridge rhythms to thick syrupy long tenon neck pickup tones- it's all here. Roll back the tone pots to enga ge the Bumblebee caps and the tone fattens up beautifully. This one is a real tone machine. The one piece mahogany neck here has an exceptional chunky feel- .90" deep at the 5th fret with a C profile. This enables great tone transfer- this is one of those special guitars where the body and neck resonate as one. The look here is fantastic- deep sunburst finish, aged hardware, creme bound body and neck, acrylic inlays. This Gibson is in very good/excellent condition- there is one ding on the back(pics) and light scratches on the front- nothing that affects the tone or playability whatsoever. The frets are clean- just professionally set up with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret. This auction includes the original hardshell case, COA, paperwork, and hang tags.
