This is a Vintage 1964 Fender Jaguar handed down from my grandfather who was a musician as well. I do feel a bit wrong for selling it, but I don't think he'd mind since he really didn't play it all that much either. Plus, I hardly play it now since I have two new guitars on hand that I am not scared to bang up. It works perfectly and still sounds like a beautiful beast. Very pure resonation, clarity, and natural slight-nasty distortion on the different pick-up selection. I usually use it for slide playing which it sounds great for.The Back Story.......My grandfather use to play a juke joint in Alabama back in about 1965 or so which had many amazing musicians coming in to play every weekend. Him and his three sons were playing the place one particular weekend and my pawpaw (grandfather) noticed this guitar behind the bar. He asked the bar tender, "Whose guitar is that? The bar tender said, "Some old guy who played blues in here last weekend left it. Half-way through his set he got run out by the cops, who I guess had been looking for him for quite sometime. We didn't even know he was wanted or we'd a booked him earlier. Hahaha!" He then asked the bartender if he could take a look see and he said "Sure, I don't see why not." After seeing the guitar, my pawpaw said he was smitten. He asked the bartender, " Has he not come back for it or called about it?" The bartender said n o, and then went on to tell him that the guy the guitar belonged to hasn't been seen since nor did they know the guy's real name. From what I remember my pawpaw telling me, he used a stage name which he couldn't recollect. He wasn't sure if he was famous or not either. He was only concerned with the guitar at that time I guess. Anyway, back to the story...My pawpaw then asked the man, "Well, how long you reckon before he doesn't come back would you be willing to sell it to me?" The bartender said, "When y'all playing in here again after tonight?" My pawpaw replied, "Two weeks." "Ok, well if he ain't back before then, I'll sell it to you when I see you next."Two weeks later, my pawpaw bought this guitar for $50. Even though that was a lot of dough back then, it was still a very good price. Thank goodness that bartender had no idea the value of a guitar. All that being said, to whoever wins this guitar, please keep the story alive. It's a nice little history to this J ag and I like to think the man that originally owned it was an old blues musician who was famous at one time. Who knows though?
