If you are looking at this listing, you probably already know about the Gibson Custom Shop 50's reproductions. They are outstanding and highly collectable guitars. This one is no exception. This guitar is 100% stock and has spent most of its life in the case. It has never been gigged and hardly ever played. The guitar is definitely near mint. As you can see, it is a light back which, in my opinion, are much prettier than the darker backs. There are no dings on this guitar. You must look very, very closely to see any of the very minor imperfections. There are almost no imperfections on the back of the guitar and even less on the front. None on the front or back are even worthy of mentioning because they require a very close inspection to even see. Take a look at the headstock pictures. There are not any dings or nicks on the headstock. The one exception to the very high quality of this guitar is that there is patina on the tailpiece and the pickups. You could probably polish them and eliminate most of it or even replace the pickup covers for about $25. If the patina is an issue to you, please don't bid on this guitar. If you can deal with the patina as described, you will not be disappointed in the remainder of this guitar. The action and intonation on the guitar is great and I replaced the strings about two months ago. Nonetheless, I alwa ys recommend that you have it set up to your preferences because string gauge, height of the strings and such things vary from person to person. The electronics work perfectly. The humbuckers give you a huge variety of tone and sound great. There is no scratchiness in the volume or tone controls or the pickup selector switch. The neck is straight and it plays and sounds just like it did when it was new. The frets show almost no play wear. The tulip tuners work very well and it stays in tune for long periods of time. It is not weight relieved and weighs around 9.5 pounds. The neck is the 50's neck and although the 50's necks are thicker than most necks, this neck is very comfortable. As you can see, it comes with the original case. The case has some normal wear on it but nothing major. It has some of the original case candy in it. There is absolutely no reserve on this guitar but I do reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally. If you have any doubt about the value of this guitar, do an ebay search for "R7" in "electric guitars." You'll see that the opening/reserve bids on this model runs from $2,500 to $3,500. This guitar can be yours for $1.00 because ... Click for more info
