Up for auction is a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul '57 Black Beauty Reissue with 3 Pickups, Bigsby Tremelo, and the original case with all "case candy," including the original Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity. I am the original owner of this guitar, and it has received less than an hour of total playing time. It has spent its entire life in its case in a climate controlled closet of my home studio. This is as immaculate a guitar will be without being straight from the factory. The guitar has less wear than a "brand new" showroom model you would find in a guitar store (and I don't mean Guitar Centerâ€"â€"that place is a real mess). This like-new Black Beauty is in perfect functional condition. Aesthetically, the guitar is in immaculate condition, with only a few, very light surface scratches from its light use. I could not get these scratches to show up in pictures (even with a macro lens on a high-end DSLR). You can only see them from the correct angle, and even then, they are too light to be easily visible. The included original case is in like new condition, with only one or two small blemishes where it was sitting on another case. The guitar's action was impeccable from the factory, and still is. It goes without saying that this guitar sounds unreal. Incredible sustain, perfect Les Paul tone. Purchase this beauty for a fr action of its original price! Brand new, this guitar sold for around $7,000. I was a Gibson artist many years ago, so I was able to get it for less than that, but the fact that it was still worth so much always made me nervous to play it. My '76 Les Paul Custom (with a gorgeous maple fretboard) has always been my go-to player since I'm not afraid to get it dirty. I could never bring myself to taint this perfect guitar!
