Vintage 1980's Gibson Flying V with Original Case NO RESERVEUp for bids is a vintage Gibson Flying V from 1985. This one has a factory installed Kahler Flyer locking tremelo system. It's finished in white, and the paint has a ton of cool looking weather checking that actually gives it the look of a custom 'crackle' finish. I'm including lots of photos to show you what I'm talking about. Despite the crackle-y look the finish is still generally smooth to the touch. The lines are a little deeper around the control knobs and you can feel them there. I don't see or feel any cracks in the actual wood, everything is just in the finish, and there are some small nicks and dings in the paint from use but nothing major. Again, the photos will give you an excellent idea of the condition. The serial number is a little faint, but that's pretty normal and common for Gibsons with this kind of white paint. If you look in the correct light the number and 'Made in USA' stamp are clearly there. The knobs and bridge position pickup have been changed but everything else looks original. The neck pickup is the original Gibson Dirty Fingers humbucker while the bridge pickup is now a Dimarzio ( a Super Distortion model, I believe). Both pickups have strong output and sound great. The neck is straight with comfortable action. Frets show a li ttle wear but not enough to cause any buzzing or dead spots. All of t he tremelo parts, including the arm, are intact and in good working order. The original hardshell case shows a little wear and tear on the outside but its still solid and all of the latches and hinges are in good working order. Look at the many photos to see how you feel about the heavily weather checked finish then bid to win- I'm offering it with NO RESERVE.U.S. shipping and insurance will be $40 (more to Alaska and Hawaii). CANADIAN SHIPPING: International Priority Mail postage and insurance to Canada will be $70. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: International bids are welcome, but please email for a shipping quote before bidding as shipping is not available to all countries due to size limits on U.S. International Priority Mail. For example, I CAN NOT ship to South America, Australia, Israel and several other countries. Shipping to Russia may be available but it will be via the more expensive Express Mail. To the countries that I can ship to the cost should be around $110. International bidders are responsible for any taxes or duties, and I can not declare a lower value on the customs form. Again if you are a non- U.S. bidder please contact me prior to bidding. ... Click for more info
