Up for auction is my beloved fender stratocaster "Briana"The story of this guitar is a story of love and about letting go. The ending of a chapter, the turning of a page.This guitar has went through many changes and transformations over the past 8 years or so and now I believe she is exactly as I had envisioned her in the beginning. Perfect. The irony is now after all those years it is time to let go of her and move on to something new. I have put my heart and soul into this guitar everyday and every way. When I was down she was always there to lift me back up and help me dream again.At about the time of the turning of the millennium I was at a low point in my life, unsatisfied with what I was doing and where I was at. Broken hearted, empty pockets, empty dreams. I would sit alone in the darkness and listen to my favorite music. I had a self inflicted near death experience then and next day I awoke with a new vision for my life, the life I wanted to live, the life of my dreams. On that day I took a few of the things I had (video game systems) and traded them in at the local pawn shop for a slightly used blues guitar. (a Hamer slammer strat copy) From that day on my soul purpose was to learn how to play it like all of my heroes. ( Gilmour, Clapton, Hendrix, Vaughan, many others.) I fell in love with the Fender Stratocaster and decided that I would like to have one of my o wn. Always being a do it yourself kind of person so I decided to go on e-bay and find the parts i needed and build my own strat. She started off with a 1989 American standard body, a 67' RI japanese maple neck and a set of custom shop texas special pickups. As you can see now she is quite different. The story of how "Briana" got her name.After building this guitar and playing and practicing for a few years I eventually ended up buying a house and settling into a job that i loved, life was good and I felt like I was on top of the world.I created a music and computer room in my house, got some recording software and set out to create some songs. I signed up on Myspace and created a music page. One day while browsing there I was on the fender guitar page and saw a girl who commented after I posted a video. Her comment said only "heart" I went to her page and it was love at first site, love at first listen. I went a little crazy after that as most do when they fall in love. we ha d a few moments of communication but I think i probably scared her away. I followed her and pursued her hoping to win ...
