Up for sale is a super cool, beautiful 1950s Gibson ES-295 hollow body guitar with hardshell case.Guitar has been heavily modified... please read description fully and feel free to email with any additional questions before bidding and I will do my best to answer.OK, so we sold this guitar to the person who just sold it b ack to us about 30 or so years ago.  I do believe the guitar was already routed out at that time with the Gibson humbuckers that are in the guitar now.The main issue with this guitar is that the serial number has been scratched off the label.. this was done at some point more then 30 years ago, so it really should not be an issue.. the same owner has had this guitar for more then 30 years and he got the guitar that way.The guitar was refretted at some point.. kind of odd frets, they almost are V shaped and come to a point... not at all uncomfortable to play on, but just an unusual fretwire. The binding on the neck was replaced as well when the guitar was refretted.. it is still white, while the body binding has aged and yellowed nicely.  Also, for some reason, the double black dot marker that would normally be at the 12th fret on the binding is at the 9th fret.. .don't ask me why!!Some of the mother of pearl inlays are coming up a little at the edges... The Gibson h umbuckers are the Patent Label pickups, labeled "Patent No. 2,737,842 " . They are the " T Top" pickups with the T on the bobbins... these pickups alone for for $500 or more for the pair on eBay!The tailpiece and bridge are not original... it has a wooden compensated bridge on it now.Tuning machines were replaced with Grover machines many years ago.The truss rod cover is not original.. it is labeled Stereo.Wood around the output jack is split a little, seems common with these guitars... still stable and not really a problem.. didn't have room in the auction for a pic, but if you want to see it, email me.Normal amount of finish checking as to be expected on a 50+ year old Gibson... has great personality .Guitar was just set up and actually plays pretty good and sounds great too.Comes with very old hardshell case with yellow interior... Don't believe it is original , probably from the 70's I would say.Something going on with the finish on the heel of the neck as well..So thats the scoop... as I said, feel free to email with any questions or conce rns and I will do my best to answer...GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!   ...
