surfsidedetail Store Condition: Guitar is minty as it was a wall hanger that was played very few times.  Includes the hard case and unopened goody bag.ABOUT THE VG STRATOCASTER GUITARIf you are shopping for a Fender VG Stratocaster, then I don't have to tell you, but if you wandered here because you were looking for a USA made Strat, or some other reason, let me tell you what is great about this guitar. Alder body, maple neck, 3 color classic sunburst, whammy bridge, 3 pickups this has all the guts of an American made Strat from the Corona, CA factory. But snuck into this guitar is a Roland synth pickup near the bridge and two extra knobs that allow you access to several synthesized guitar sounds that sound real, and behave real.  And it is easy!  I already have another Roland guitar synth product, and that product can lose me -- but this one product is designed for simple operation, controlled from the guitar with two simple knobs and transmitted using a regular 1/4" guitar cable (NO EXTRA GEAR TO PACK EXCEPT BATTERIES!) Also, the Strat synth is a smooth operator - I haven't heard one weird sound, thump or surprise from this synth, but the other Roland guitar synth I own can squeek or bark or inflict some other surprise on me now and then.Fender doesn't make the VG on an American Stratocaster anymore -- that's why folks pay the little bit extra for the 2007 and 2008.The guitar sounds inside this guitar are:VG circuit bypass (regular Strat, regular behaviors -- rewire it, upgrade pickups, etc, no problem.)  Virtual ash-bodied Strat (to give access to Strat sounds with Tune function and no hum) Virtual Telecaster Virtual 2-humbucker Strat (so you can give a run at a Gibson sound)Acoustic (an assortment of five acoustics, from dreadnought to resonator) A five-way blade switch is used for selecting sounds within each of the above modes But there is also a virtual tuner knob, that works with the Virtual guitars at the flick of a knob, giving you:Drop DDADGAD (This is my favorite.)O pen G  ("So THAT's how to play the Stones' Brown Sugar!")Baritone (BEADF#B)AND 12 String! (ever heard a 12 string Tele? Very cool! I used to dream about having a twin neck guitar -- no need now. Great for mando parts, too.)You may already know it is VERY hard to get alternate tunings going when you have a tremolo bridge installed -- this fixes the problem -- tune once, standard, turn knob. Voila. The VG Strat does exactly what its designers intended: it brings together a great guitar and a great guitar modelling system, in a very accessible way that won't scare off even the the most technology-shy guitarist.  ...
