This is the '12 Gibson USA 70s Tribute SG Special Electric Guitar. 24.75" scale. 1 11/16" nut width. 7 lbs. Gibson combined some of their best features into the Special 70's Tribute SG. The body and neck here are light weight mahogany for incredible warmth and resonance. The finish here is satin, which lets the wood resonate naturally, resulting in an exceptionally 'woody' natural tone. With this SG, Gibson installed their new mini humbuckers. With alnico magnets and steel blades, you get the best of warmth and articulation while the mini design adds in a bit of bite. The bridge pickup brings excellent crunch for solid rhythms and searing leads. The neck pickup here has the thick sustain of a full size Gibson humbucker with great note definition. Incredible. The neck here is Slim Taper- just .79" deep at the 5th fret. Add to that the 12" radius on the baked maple fretboard and you have a serious player. The look is gorgeous- sunburst satin finish, large cream SG 'guard, and chrome hardware. This SG is in exceptional condition- nothing to report. This auction includes the original Gibson gig bag.
