In 1994, Fender's Arizona factory produced a small number of aluminum American Standard Stratocasters in three unique anodized finishes -purple marble, blue marble, and red, silver and blue flag, which gave the guitars an indescribably unique appearance to match the singular sound produced by their hollow and aluminum bodies . They are unlike anyt hing Fender has ever produced before or since. A very few of these had a 40th Anniversary Stratocaster pin on the headstock, and an engraved anniversary neck plate. Fender manufactured approximately 400 aluminum Stratocasters. Many of them had small flaws (dents caused by the molded interior of their cases), and when the dealers returned them to Fender, the guitars were deemed irreparable and were thus replaced under warranty with regular strats. On top of this, the few that survived, suffered extreme corrosion and finish anomalies. This was here is one of the only ones that has had little corrosion, and still has the original "look" to the guitar. This guitar for sale, is what Fender had hoped and aimed for, and very few made it this far.Overall this guitar is in terrific condition. There are a few areas of slight finish wear, most notably on the back 4 corners of the trem cavity cover, and a few small ones around the pickguard. From a foot away, you'd never know, and all y ou'll see is a beautiful purple and blue finish that is unlike anythi ng else. The guitar sounds extremely unique, and plays very well. It will ship out in a used Fender hardshell case, and will be fully insured for the purchase price.
