80's Gibson ES-175/295 Electric Guitar Attention: International bidders I will ship to The UK, Ireland, Ukrain, Europe and some parts of Russia. All other International bidders, please contact me first before bidding. It's a real hassle to find out that someone who lives in UnKlazinyiobiastan won an item that I'm selling only to find out that I also have to include my first born to insure that the item is safely coming from the United States. So please ask, "if I will ship the item to your country" before bidding. Also extra shipping and whatever tariffs will apply. One more thing, DO NOT ASK HOW MUCH IT COST TO SHIP TO YOUR COUNTRY UNTIL YOU WIN. I WILL NOT ANSWER THAT QUESTION. I WILL NOT ACCESS SHIPPING CHARGES UNTIL THE END OF THE AUCTION. Thanks in advance. 1980's Gibson ES-175/295 Gold Electric guitar. I was told by the original owner that it was an 80's model but the serial number referenced I think is '93 so I listed it by what I was told. First let me say that I REALLY hate getting rid of this one as it is one of only three Gibsons that I own. Having said that, this guitar is listed as an ES-175/295 because it has a unique story behind it. I brought this guitar about 5 years ago from a Gibson employee that converted it from an ES-175 to what it is today a ES-295. The reason that it was converted is because there was some sort of flaw in the guitar (I don't know what) while being made a ES-175. So, as was common practice by Gibson back then, the guitar's body w as taken to the saw, cut in half, and the employee was allowed to salvage it. Sounds brutal I know but how many of us would like to go to the Rickenbacker, Fender, Gretsch or Gibson factorys and be allowed to take home the guitars (even after the saw) that they said had flaws? Anyway, the guitar was professionally put back together, reinforced and kept by the employee who decided to convert it to a ES-295. He installed a Bigsby tremelo which I replaced with a gold one to match the hardware. He also installed CTS pots and Lollar P-90 pickups that sound incredible. The one thing that I can see that is wrong with this guitar is that the paint bubbles up a bit right behind the bridge. It seems to be on the seam where it was put back together. I was told that the paint bubbled there because that part of the seam hadn't been prepped correctly for priming and painting. It doesn't ... Clic k for more info
