Gibson Custom Shop ES-359 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar, Vintage Sunburst Finish Mint Condition, No Reserve, Free Shipping in Original Gibson Packaging, Lots of Pictures!!!!! This listing is for a mint condition 2011 Gibson Custom Shop ES-359 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar with a Vintage Sunburst finish. It comes with the original hard case. Before the Gibson factories were raided for using improperly sourced ebony, these guitars were made in the Gibson Memphis Custom Shop. Since the raid, it appears Gibson has stopped making these (there are none in this finish to be had new from any reputable online dealers and while I've found an Ebony one in stock in the US, they seem exceptionally hard to come by) and it is unclear when they will resume production. Unlike current (2012) Gibsons, there is no "baked maple", or synthetic "Richlite" anywhere on this instrument. These have to be seen to be believed. Try to find another model in the ES series in like-new condition with a 5-ply bound headstock sporting a diamond inlay, Grover tuners, 7-ply binding on the body, mother-of-pearl block inlays, a multi-ply bound tortoise pickguard and a REAL ebony fingerboa rd that's also bound. Now note the cost of those other models. Mitch Holder at Wildwood guitars gives a great explanation of the work required to make these exceptional guitars in this YouTube video I've linked to (although please note that the model he's demoing has a figured top and back, while this auction is for the non-figured version): Wildwood Guitars ES-359 Demonstration There are a few other great players who've made videos demonstrating the guitar, so be sure to search YouTube for "ES-359" if you have questions about how the guitar sounds.   This particular instrument you're bidding on looks as new as the day it left the factory. These guitars really have to be seen to be believed. When you open the case (also in immaculate condition) you will swear you've just received a brand new guitar straight from the factory. There isn't a scratch, dent or ding on the guitar. The binding work is flawless. There's zero fretwear. The Vintage Sunburst finish seems to glow in the right light. A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the guitar along with a Factory Warranty brochure that has not been filled out (although it's my understanding that the warranty is only for the original owner, and only valid if you purchase the guitar from an authorized Gibson retailer). There's also a small key that I think is for the case. Right now the guitar is already lovingly packed in it's original shipping box, ready to go to it's new home. In the pictures I've blacked out the serial number for your privacy.   The cool thing about these smaller ES models is that they sound wonderful with the stock Gibson '57 Classic humbucker pickups. This model in particular, with its ebony fretboard, is capable of a great lively bright tone yet the Memphis Tone circuit can get you to a very wide range of sounds (I know, ... Click for more info
