1996 FENDER JEFF BECK SIGNATURE STRATOCASTER Original Fat Neck Profile, Rare Midnight Purple Finish, Pro Setup!WORLDWIDE SHIPPING AVAILABLE! This a 1996 Fender Jeff Beck Signature Strat in Midnight Purple finish, made in Corona, CA USA. This guitar is one of the had to find early models with the fat U-Shape (baseball bat) neck and original Lace Sensor Gold pickups with push button switch (an early version of Fender's S1 Switch that allows multiple pickup combinations: all the combinations can be seen on the Fender Website. The original pickguard was cracked and worn in several spots and the Fender part is no longer available, so I had a custom pickguard made by Chandler identical to the original (Chandler has been making parts since the 70's, so this part is of even better quality than the Fender original). All parts other than the pickguard (body, neck, bridge, locking tuners, electronics, nut, output jack, etc) are original to the guitar and are genuine Fender. The Fender Artist Series Jeff Beck Stratocaster came about when Jeff Beck had asked Fender to make him a `62 Vintage model painted in the same yellow color as the souped-up Ford truck featured in the movie American Graffiti. This became the first Fender Strat Plus prototype and Fender wanted it to become the Jeff Beck Signature model, but Beck turned down but in 1990, Jeff Beck agreed to release his signature model.
