This is a rare Crestwood Matsumoku Made "Made in Japan" guitar. Many refer to these as "Lawsuit" guitars, but in fact no lawsuits took place, but it is a term used for many of the Greco, Burny and other MIJ guitars. The Crestwood line included solidbodies and hollowbodies and some very good Gibson bass clones. The guitar dates t o the 1970s. This guitar plays well, is medium weight and the finish has yellowed to a cool vintage "TV Yellow" tint. There is a slight wood grain as the finish is slightly translucent. I bought this guitar as part of a large instrument estate, the previous owner was an occasional gigging jazz player. I purchased this with plans of making it a "touring guitar" so I can leave my LP Custom at home. Bands and projects have recently changed, and I am on to other interests and am putting this up for sale. Pickups on this guitar sound very hot (good) to me. I have not checked to see what they are but I believe them to be original.Issues of Note: Guitar Plays and Works. It is in Vintage Good Original condition. Guitar has a solid brass bridge installed that appears to have been a modification. Guitar may need a new 3 way switch, or the current one cleaned as the current one seems to be a little tight on the switching ($5 or less part). I have made no attempt to clean the pots, expect the normal amount of contact cleaner to be used to clean them . Both Pickups Work Well and have very strong bell like output. This was a higher end guitar of the line. There is a certain amount of patina on all parts, body has fading and other cool vintage finish relic-ing. It needs new strings, but as noted below I will include a new set. Tuners work. Nut works. Vintage Westbury case included, for free to protect the guitar during shipping (case will close, but has a busted latch). Guitar has no obvious obnoxious odors or anything of the sort, but it is a very old guitar. Please do not bid if you don't understand that this guitar is in used condition and very old. I am 100% confident that this could be a gigging guitar for someone, as that is what I bought and planned on doing with it. These nicer vintage Japanese Les Paul bodied guitars tend to sell upwards of $600 and higher for the set neck models. I am selling this one with NO RESERVE. All and all, this is a very cool guitar and could be very nice with a little cleaning. I am leaving it & selling it as-is, I will leave the cleaning / polishing to the new owner, as some people may want to restore or some may want to leave vintage. Photos represent the guitar well. *I will include a pack of Gibson or D'Addario Strings with this guitar, just specify 9s or 10s. The guitar ... Click for more info
