THE PART I HATE--PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU HAVE A POST OFFICE BOX--UPS WILL NOT DELIVER TO THEM--PLEASE DO NOT BID WITHOUT CONTACTING ME FIRST IF YOU HAVE 1.) LESS THAN 10 PERFECT FEEDBACKS, 2.) LIVE IN CANADA, 3.) DO NOT HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT WITH ENOUGH MONEY TO MAKE IMMEDIATE PAYMENT--WE CAN WORK WITH THIS BUT I NEED T0 HEAR FROM YOU--THANKS.I keep a core collection of about 30 guitars and seldom sell out of it--then there's another 20 or so guitars i buy just to play for awhile and re-sell--usually i lose money on the re-sale so i look at the loss as the cost of renting the guitar of my interest--once in a while i'll clear a profit which is great--but i'm not a re-seller--at least not in the classic sense and if i were i'd probably be considered the world's worse since i usually lose money on the re-sale. But i do get to play a whole lot of interesting instruments. Being retired has its advantages.PLEASE NOTE I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN 2 DAYS AFTER THIS AUCTION ENDS FOR 10 DAYS SO IMMEDIATE PAYMENT--WHICH I TYPICALLY DON'T DO--IS REQUIRED IN THIS INSTANCE SO I CAN SHIP BEFORE LEAVINGI make it a policy to never sell a guitar that has not been completely gone over by my luthier prior to offering it--i hate buying an instrument from someone who doesn't know about guitars but thinks that it looks pretty--i'm also not an expert--so i make sure everything i sell--unless otherwise noted--is cleaned, polished, new strings, electronics checked and adjusted if necessary, frets checked, fretboard oiled, neck angle checked, intonation optimized (for my preferences) and black lighted for any previous repairs or damage by my luthier--this costs me $100 but it is well worth the peace of mind that comes with offering an instrument you know is going to be well received. If he finds something i either fix it or note it in the item description.I have conflicting histories about this guitar--from the family of the original and only owner other than myself and from my luthier as well as from various Gibson experts including reps I've spoken with in person over the phone. I'll do my best to give a short version of all of this and then the bidder will have to sort of decide prior to bidding--First the condition though and then the story--you can see from the scans there's a small crack (scan 10) at the jeck--it's impossible to tell if it's all the way through because where it falls inside the guitar is behind the bracing--my luthier thinks it's likely a finish crack but even if it isn't it won't move because it's in a heavily braced area of the guitar--the jack itself is solid. This happened when i sold the guitar about a year ago--the buyer even before it arrived asked me to take it back because of a financial hardship--an emergency--and refund their money--which i did--the guitar was immediately shipped back ...
