Fender American Telecaster with Gene Parsons Stringbender "Double Bender" installed. Here's a 2006 Fender American Telecaster in 3-color sunburst with a Gene Parsons B-G double Stringbender and the "Long Stroke" option installed. See Gene Parsons Website for more info on the double Stringbender: I bought this Tele brand new from Zzounds on Feb 11, 2006 and shipped it straight off to Gene to have the double bender installed. I received the completed guitar on Sept 11, 2006. I asked Gene to sign the Stringbender installation. I'm not that big on autographed guitars, but this is different (and Gene is cool :) . Gene Parsons and Clarence White developed the Stringbender while working with The Byrds. Gene went on to perfect the design, and has since installed stringbenders for a number of rather famous people. Here's the Zzounds invoice for the guitar. And here's Gene's invoice for the Stringbender install. I had Gene install the long-stroke Double-Bender in this Tele because I wanted to do pedal steel licks on guitar. When I received the guitar I played it a couple of times at home, but my band was working on a CD, so I put it in the safe. Then some other stuff came up, and here we are 5 years later. The guitar has a low action plays fantastic, and the double bender is in perfect order. The action was set up by our local pro luthier with a slight amount of fret slap to give that good old country sound. The guitar is in near mint condition with the exception of a chip on the front edge of the lower left bout (I've been handling guitars for a long time, but I still did something stupid). There are also a couple of light finish marks on the upper bout which you can see in this photo. This is the case candy, docs and accessories. Left to right: Owners manual, accessory ziplock, strap, polishing cloth, documents, G-Bender strap, pick guard stickers, case keys and tools, hang tags, registration card (not filled in), original "Fender" logo cord and packing list, The purchase and stringbender install were thoroughly documented. The various invoices, tracking numbers and e-mails will be included with the guitar. Packed weight is 12 lb, and I have entered UPS ground as the shipper of this auction. If you prefer FedEx or another shipper let me know and I will adjust accordingly. The guitar will be double boxed with serious packing material between layers.
