Rare 1967 Gibson ES-335TD-12 String Guitar Serial # 120370 Welcome You are bidding on a rare, vintage 1967 Gibson ES-335 12 string guitar in Heritage Cherry (Gibsonâs signature color in the 60âs). This iconic guitar was a limited production model for Gibson in those days and one of this age in anywhere near as great a condition is near impossible to find. I am only the second owner, having bought it in 1995. It has been only lightly and rarely played since then and has been kept in its case, in my air-conditioned, smoke-free, pet-free home since then. Condition Notes It is in overall excellent + condition. I just had the guitar checked out, tested and re-set up at Chipâs Music here in Jacksonville. Bridge and intonation were checked and adjusted slightly; electronics were tested and pots cleaned and eased. All electronics work fine. Neck joint checked out perfectly, no damage or repairs ever. The current bridge is a Gibson Nashville bridge which replaced the original Gibson ABR-1 at some point. The body is maple, the neck is mahogany and the fretboard is rosewood with mother of pearl rectangle fret-markers. Any apparent marks seen in the pictures, other than whatâs mentioned below, are the result of my poor camera work and reflections/flash glare. Please note I have done my best to accurately describe the guitar's condition in great detail but it is being offered in as-is condition, so please read the condition notes carefully. That said, this is an amazing guitar and one you'll be thrilled to own and play. Body Front There are some very, very light scratches and a few tiny little dings but they are purely cosmetic and donât affect the glossy finish. No splits, gouges, etc; Bindings are all in excellent condition (appropriately slightly yellowed with age) with no breaks or separations. The pick guard and witch hat control knobs are all in great shape, as are, the pickups, frames, toggle switch, jack opening, bridge and trapeze tailpiece (as shiny as when it was new with no pitting, rust or scratches). Body Back A fair amount of light scratches and swirls but no cracks, splits, gouges, nicks, buckle rash etc. (See upper right side in picture). In fact, while there are some scratches on the front and back, hard as it may be to believe, there is absolutely NO checking, splitting or crowâs feet in the finish at all, NONE, anywhere. The gloss on the finish has to be seen to be appreciated; truly awesome for a 45 year old guitar. Neck and Fingerboard The neck is perfectly straight, slim and a pleasure to play (as anyone who has ever played a 335 or 330 knows first-hand) and the frets are bright with plenty of life left. It has the original darker mahogany neck as straight and true as when it was new. On the back of the neck there are 5-6 spots of ring nicks dead center from the 3 ... Click for more info
