Here is my 1983 Gibson Flying V Korina. It is one of a limited 1958 reissue, produced from 1981 - 1983. It features a Korina wood body and neck and Indian Rosewood fingerboard, as well as all gold plated hardware. I have babied this guitar since I originally purchased it in 1983, and have kept it in pristine conditio n and have always stored it in it's case. I have made some modifications to make this amazing guitar a dream guitar. Here are the modifications; I had the nickel frets replaced with stainless steel frets at Performance Guitar in North Hollywood, CA. They did an immaculate job. The original pickups have been replaced with Gibson Ceramic Magnate pickups - 500 T bridge pickup, and 496R neck pickup. There are 2 new switches on the pickguard. One is a coil tap for both pickups. This switch allows you to flip between Humbucker and single coil use.  The other is a tone bypass for extra crispy highs. The pickguard was also replaced from black to white. The control cavity has been lined with copper foil for hum and buzz reduction. The original strap buttons have been replaced with straplocks. The original tone cap (.022) has been replaced with a (.0047) tone cap for a more mid-rangey tone when the tone knob has been turned down. I installed a Jim Dunlop straplock on the inside of the upper wing, this improves the center of gravity greatly and the guitar hangs balanced. I had to cut out a small notch in the guitar case to accomodate the new strap button. There are two tiny dings on the back of the neck behind the 3rd & 4th frets, they are nearly un-noticeable and insignificant. The guitar has the raised Gibson peghead logo from the original 1958 mold. It also has Keystone emeraldescent machine head buttons with individually closed gears. The original "Features and Specifications" card is included and in mint condition. The guitar is perfect and the neck is straight. The neck is very stable and never needs adjustment. The case shows a little outerwear but is still amazing after 30 years. This is a 30 year old guitar that looks like it came home new from the guitar store yesterday, and even plays better. It's been very difficult for me come to sell this guitar, it is without doub t, the best guitar I'll ever own. However, somebody else's good fortune and my personal financial reasons require that I sell it. This would be a great addition for the Flying V enthusiast, or a great holiday gift for yourself, or for a very much loved one. There is no reserve and I have 100% positive feedback. Good Luck! ... Click for more info
