Gibson 50th Anniversary SG Standard 24In my opinion, this is the best thought-out and most elegant configuration of the SG that Gibson has delivered to date. The most unique feature of this model is the addition of two frets making this a full two octave, 24 fret neck. An added benefit is that those two frets perfectly brid ge the gap between the end of the fretboard and the neck pickup, eliminating the cheap plastic trim piece used on the 22 fret models. Well done!This particular guitar is in excellent plus to near mint condition. I bought it new from Musician's Friend, gave it a professional set-up and played it sparingly and carefully over the past few months. It has never left my home and has never been exposed to smoke, pets, moisture or other nastiness. The truss rod works perfectly, there is no fret wear, the electronics work flawlessly and there are no nicks, dings, dents, or other damage. The only negatives are the usual superficial surface swirling that every gloss black finish shows in direct light, some very light pickmarks on the pickguard, and a less than perfectly level surface on the upper bevel of the guitar (see the photo). This is how the guitar came from Gibson and is apparently withing Gibson's QC speifications. In any event, it doe s not interfere with the playability of the guitar in any way and is pretty much unnoticeable unless you're looking for it.The guitar weighs exactly 6.8 lbs.I am including the original Gibson hardshell case with white "fur" lining and all case candy as pictured.
